Tiger Woods must win five more majors to surpass the record of 18 set by Jack Nicklaus. But Tiger leads Nicklaus in another important statistical category – Sports Illustrated cover appearances. Bill reviews a new collection of all the magazine’s covers chronicling over 50 years and sports.

Annika Sorenstam won seventy two LPGA events and ten major championships. She was named Female Golfer of the Year eight times. She never made the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Looking over the Sports Illustrated covers collected in this book is a good way to kill some time while you’re waiting for your name to be called. This is a perfect coffee table book for your dentist or doctor to put in the waiting room, because when it finally is your turn, the person who taps you on the shoulder won’t be interrupting anything more important than your attempt to count the times Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Muhammad Ali have made the cover.
